Some members may be aware of disagreements within the Sportsmans Association Council. These came to a head at the Council meeting held on 22 March 2008.

The end result was that a motion was passed unanimously that as the Council can no longer work together as a group, they should all resign their position, and if they so wish, put themselves up for re-election at the next AGM in May. The Director and the General Secretary were to run the Association no behalf of the membership until the AGM.

At the AGM I will tell the membership what has transpired and lead to this sorry impasse. The membership will be asked to decide who they want to run the association and where do they want the resources directed. They are not infinate. Please give consideration to becoming a member of the new Council if you feel you have something to offer and would be able to spare the time.

I will shortly be writing to all members with a notice inviting you to the AGM together with an Agenda for the meeting and any further information I feel would be appropriate.

I urge you to attend the AGM if at all possible, so you can have your say whether the Association is to contiue to exist, and if it is to continue, then what it dŒs and who dŒs what.

I look forward to seeing you at the AGM Saturday 24th May 2008 at Bisley.

Alan Westlake

Director SAGBNI
